Not just advocates for refugee resettlement, RCUSA member The Southeast Asia Resource Center (http://www.searac.org/) works with Cambodian, Laotian, and Vietnamese Americans by empowering communities through advocacy, leadership development, and capacity building. Their work and models are great for engaging diaspora communities in issues important to them.
Yes, SEARAC does great work. We need more organizations like them that empowers the community and builds leaders from within.
Now that the election results are in, many of us are worried what this will mean for refugees and the resettlement program. I encourage you to keep up with RCUSA on our webapge, Facebook, and Twitter, for the latest news and action alerts. We also have a grassroots advocacy list, so if you're interseted in joining that, please email me (sward@rcusa.org).
