#HumanRightsChat is a discussion between human rights activists on Twitter. We encourage activists to join and share their experiences advancing human rights strategy. Chat dates, times, and topics are announced on New Tactics website and social media in advance.
These conversations allow participants to:
- Reflect on their work by sharing their experiences
- Learn from others’ experiences and find new tactics
- Connect with new allies and create new networks and communities of practice
Twitter chats use a Q & A format - with the chat moderator tweeting questions labeled Q1, Q2, etc., and participants answering in their tweets with A1, A2, etc. Anyone can join and add their comments throughout the duration of the chat using the common hashtag #HumanRightsChat!
Chats will be held quarterly on different topics (i.e. activist mental health, digital security). Twitter chats are archived so that participants are able to go back and review the ideas and resources shared.
New Tactics' online conversations have taken various form over the years including public forums, webinars, and podcasts .All of our prior online conversations are available on our website.
