This is a space for conversation leaders and guests to pose questions propose ideas, share successes, tactics, tools and resources with one another that have not been addressed in other threads.
If we think about how to follow up this conversation, where should we be looking into participating? How about listing conferences, working groups and other upcoming spaces to learn and discuss Machine Learning and Human Rights?
We have a Huridocs Collaboratory - an open forum for human rights practitioners, information wranglers and technologists to share knowledge of and experience in tackling information challenges, starting from ditigizing documents, over documenting human rights violations to holistic security. The machine learning part is, so far, quite sparse but it is a good opportunity to follow up our conversation there: https://collaboratory.huridocs.org/
Also, panels and open discussions at IFF, RightsCon, etc. would be great!

For example, this session titled "Beyond Explainability: Regulating Machine Learning In Practice" at Strata NY 2018 looks great https://conferences.oreilly.com/strata/strata-ny/public/schedule/detail/69220?intcmp=il-data-confreg-lp-stny18_new_site_how-will-the-gdpr-impact-machine-learning_top_cta
