A  lawyer and international development expert with over 10 years of experience managing programs in the fields of human rights I  worked closely with civil society organizations throughout Nigeria to build capacity, increase civic participation, develop advocacy capabilities, and provide civic and political education.  I have extensive experience managing networks and coalitions of civil society groups, providing capacity building, strategic direction and program management.  

Currently the President of Lawyers Alert in Nigeria, a justice sector Nigerian NGO into civic/human rights education, rights based governance, and monitoring and documentation of human rights violations.  . Prior to joining Lawyers Alert, I served as the Nigerian Country Director of Global Rights, an international human rights capacity-building organization that works side by side with local communities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to promote and protect the rights of marginalized populations in areas such as the rights to participation and information, anti-discrimination, justice, food, water, health, education, and housing.

 Earlier in my career, I served as Chairman of a network of local NGOs operating in Benue State, Nigeria and also as the Chair of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, and also as Secretary of the Rule of Law Committee.

I am presently a member of the National Conference in Nigeria, a conference meant to discuss diverse issues of development in Nigeria and also the civil society representative on the Presidential Committee on Human Rights.

 I hold a LLB Hons in law, a BL in law and also an MSc in Development Studies.
