James Simon is Director of International Resources at the Center for Research Libraries in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He is also the director of the Global Resources Network, a collaborative initiative of libraries to promote the widespread availability and exchange of knowledge and source materials for international studies. Simon was responsible for the coordination of CRL's 2011/12 "Human Rights Electronic Evidence Assessment," a study of the current practices and technologies used by a variety of human rights monitoring groups to create and collect electronic documentation.
