What is the Tactical Mapping Tool?

The Tactical Mapping tool (TMT) beta was developed by New Tactics in Human Rights, a program of the Center for Victims of Torture, with support from Equitas and Global Affairs Canada. The TMT equips activists to collaboratively expand their understanding of relationships and develop strategic and effective action. By diagramming the relationships that surround human rights abuses, activists can see an overview of where they are and the best pathways toward change.

Activist users generate both a problem and vision statement that serves as a guide for their campaign and team of contributors. Users assign relationships between actors to better assess power dynamics, degrees of separation, and the ripple effects of action.
