We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our online Strategy Toolkit, available in both English and Arabic!

Our online Strategy Toolkit is a collection of resources and tools for building strategic thinking and tactical innovation. We’ve organized the material using the tested framework of our in-person trainings. We call this framework the 5 Steps to Strategic Effectiveness Method.

This resource has been developed primarily for human rights advocates, their organizations, coalitions, and networks to help better understand the importance and need for strategic thinking and to provide tools to help examine and determine what tactics might best help advance efforts to make change.

In November of 2013, we asked the community to help us prioritize conversation themes for 2014. We wanted to know which themes would be the most relevant to your work in the coming year. We heard from 86 of you and one of the most popular themes identified by you was Seeking Justice. After human rights violations have taken place, there is often a strong motivation to seek justice for victims.

We’re trying something a little different with our New Tactics conversations. Over the span of 3 months (Sept to Nov) we’ll be hosting a series of conversations all related to the theme: Building Awareness. We believe that this will allow the community to dig deeper on topics that interest them.

Educating individuals and communities about human rights issues is critical to generate interest and involvement in human rights movements. Tactics to build awareness range from street theater and public art to media engagement and video activism. While helping to develop new allies for your cause, these tactics provide an essential starting point for public dialogue about human rights, and focus attention on those responsible for human rights crimes.
