Learning the nitty gritty of the parallel report process was very beneficial to us
What we found most useful about the 'Using Shadow Reports for Advocacy' dialogue, was the way the various experts on shadow reporting were sharing their experiences as well as the sharing by representatives from various organizations on what they have done in their respective countries, it was insightful to learn from others the step by step process.
How New Tactics Has Helped Me (and Others!)
I have a story of how New Tactics has helped me and my class. Reflections from a New Tactics World Symposium participant
While we came from backgrounds of helping children, women, political activists, victims of violence, and many other causes, we all agreed that we were "among friends" where we didn’t need to defend our issues, but rather to be in dialog about the best strategies to use to achieve forward movement of any of the causes. This was a gathering of people who "do" and "create" and "innovate," each in his/her own expression of the struggle for "radical social change."

Tech work - It is Human Rights work too!
I am new to the Human Rights community. I work in technology and have
had a long career in technology in the corporate world; this is my
first time working in a non-profit Human Rights organization. By
joining New Tactics I have learned about the Human Rights field and its
work. By participating in the on-line dialogues, I have learned about
how to bring my work tasks – those tech tasks – and think about how
those tasks are truly part of the Human Rights work world.
New Tactics Dialogues Are Beneficial
Just a quick note to congratulate the organisers for facilitating such a stimulating series of dialogues. In Northern Ireland we have benefited from these exchanges and the
sharing of good practice whether in form of the Workbook /Notebooks or
the direct assistance of experienced practitioners such as Nancy. We are still raving about her training program on tactical mapping!
